  • The visuals on this look good. But the character's movement looks a little scrappy. And his movement in relation to the floor makes him look like he's sliding.

    Then again this is Alpha. Anyway, looks like it's got a lot of potential. Cool stuff.

  • Good catch actually. Yeah, stats aren't linked to the character entirely yet so his walk and run animations aren't being told to speed up from the default 100% you're seeing accordingly. Just one of a dozen things we still need to do.

  • Visually impressive but what about content and writing? Do you have NPC interactions, quests/missions, dialogue?

  • Interaction is basic right now. We're improving on it before the next video.

    The goal with NPCs is that when we do it right, players won't be able to tell who is an NPC and who is a player easily.

  • I don't understand. Do you plan to have have missions and quests? Dialogue trees?

  • I hadn't heart the news that you had decided on a third person view point, that's a real shame.

    I've been around since the mmorpg.com fiasco, and I've always had high hopes for Divergence, even tried to write a storyline for a race. But if it's not first person, I'm not interested.

    I am so sick of third person views. I don't need to see my fucking character. I want to be immersed in the game, I want to feel like I am seeing through my character's eyes.

  • This look very close to what I look for in a sci-fi game. I hope that you guys add dense cities in a "Blade Runner" or "Johnny Mnemonic" style.

  • Hey great work on the game! Just one suggestion, if possible let the camera move a little freely, I see its not locked to rotational translation in respect to the models position but it would really tie the animations and overall immersion if the camera was a little free to move horizontally, vertically, laterally just a tad with certain movements. This way the character isn't always in the exact middle, or always in the far left side. Do what you do though, keep it up!
