At the time, Izumi and Tomoaki were high school seniors (18 years old). Izumi is from Kyoto and Tomoaki is from Sapporo. Takashi is a student at Kansai University. Sachiyo is a professional musician who is well known in the Kansai area.

@geofg Thanks. It's not a "band" per se. Like most jazz musicians, Izumi "jams" with a lot of different people. Tomoaki, on sax, is the same age, and came down from Hokkaido for this series of gigs Izumi organized. In each gig, the membership was a bit different. I love hearing Izumi talk about jazz and music theory, even though most of it goes right over my head. Dude lives for jazz. As a fellow 親ばか, I'm sure you can guess that I'm quite proud of him.

@mattthorn I'd be proud, too. And being a jazz musician is way more 渋い than if he were to be in, say, a J-pop band or something.
