I wrote the first of these poems, entitled "Music in the Night" when I was 17. This poem is about the Northern Lights, and its reflection shown off a great lake of ice. I have always felt there was a sort of musical (and poetic) element to the stars and the sky, and everything organic surrounding us, and I wanted to portray that here. The "Blade of the Night" is the line on the horizon, between the two planes; the lights in the sky and the icy lake (the origin and the provocation)
The second--"Music"--is a poem about a few things. It is a poem that I wrote to basically say I don't care what people think of my art because it is an expression of who I am, and it means a lot to me, even if you don't like it. The poem also tries to convey the same message about my personality. I do the things I do regardless of what people think; it makes up who I am, and I'm not going to mask anything.
