Brisbane will host the biggest ever line up of monster trucks and elite monster truck drivers outside of the USA for the first ever SONY PLAYSTATION WORLD MONSTER TRUCK FINALS - set for Saturday November 15 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from 6pm.

The event is a coup for Australia as never before has this many monster truck and this many elite drivers performed in the one venue.

Some of the great names of the USA Monster Trucks phenomenon will drive in Brisbane - legends like Chicago's Paul Shafer, Ohio's Dan Patrick, South Carolina's and 2005 World Champion James Tigue and Kreg Christensen from Willard, Utah.

Australia will have four representatives on the night, with three drivers from the same family - Clive Featherby the Current National Champion, driving the legendary Aussie truck Outback Thunda; 16 year old sensation Billy Featherby driving Scooby Doo, and strong favourite to do well in the freestyle competition; and the world's youngest monster truck driver, Jaye Featherby driving the Sony Playstation 3 Motorstorm truck.

Australia's fourth representative is South East Queensland's Sherri Shafer, the only female driver in the program. The former Sprintcar star will team with the Monster Truck, Bear Foot 1.

The real stars of the show however are the 10 metal-shredding monster trucks - Scooby, Batman, Outback Thunda, Aussie Predator, Bear Foot 1, Monster Patrol, Playstation 3 MotorStorm and more, plus flame throwing jet vans, a crasharama demolition derby, backflippin' FMX and of course the famous and crowd loving, fire-breathing dinosaur Transzilla.

Australian racing driver and Channel Seven TV personality Grant Denyer will call the show, having recently been injured in a Monster Truck accident; and country music singer Adam Brand will lead the music offer.

"Forget all the previous monster truck events you've ever seen or heard about because this is a whole new ball game of high octane thrills, insane obstacles and absolute mass destruction," said Clive Featherby. "It's like figure skating.. but with trucks really, really big trucks. For example, a favourite with
the crowds is the Freestyle where each truck is given 90 seconds to hit as many objects as possible with the aim being to self destruct the actual vehicle doing the destructing! Drivers are then marked on their technicality, precision and extreme carnage causing abilities - just like figure skating but without the grace," said Clive.

"The sheer spectacle of the giant five-tonne Monster Trucks makes our high octane event special - it's a fantastic family event, the kids go wild and the grown ups are right beside them barracking for their favourite truck and driver," he said. "Never before have USA's top drivers left their shores to venture into the Southern Hemisphere to contest any type of Monster Truck activity, until now. Boasting the biggest line up of monster trucks and drivers outside of the United States, this is full scale side by side racing that will see the trucks reach speeds of 70km/hr indoors.. along with the biggest indoor pyrotechnics
show including 30 giant gas flames and lasers."

A team of 40 people will take three days to set up the arena for this unique event. The 100 truckloads that make up the freestyle obstacles will include in its cargo: 30 cars, two buses, five caravans, a boat and two water trucks plus a few special surprises.

In 2007 the Monsters of Destruction Tour was Australia's most successful, attracting over 700,000 people nationally and selling out 36 of the 41 events. The indoor SONY PLAYSTATION 3 MONSTER TRUCK WORLD FINALS in Brisbane will be even better.

  • yeah what the fuck are u on about it was only meant to be 10 trucks not fifteen trucks 5 aussies and 5 yanks. and they would have been allowed to toilets their is a few underneath were the trucks were held.anyway dont knock the drivers and the organisers.

  • what the fuck are you talking about

  • i went and i am going this year again it was the best show ever Jet van did alot and the trucks skyed it

  • it was lame ... none of the monster truck drivers especially the one who organizes them to tour liked the way the show was run by the entertainment center. all the truck drivers even wernt allowed to use the toilets they had to pee behind a tree in the carpark. the jet wasnt allowed to do pretty much anything. only 11 of the 15 trucks showed up. the show was a complete mess. and with the lightning set up , when you come out you couldnt see a damn thing.

  • i went last night the preditor got owned
