  • it has got a chinese nationalist insignia on the wing

  • Great old plane, Thanks for posting. The US called the P40 the Warhawk but it is the same plane.

  • @snipes344 No, ray died of natual causes about few years ago only mark died of an flying accident.

  • @closertotruth I see your point, but those who never saw the P-40 before and wish to know more about it, after having seen so many P-40s flying today with that sharkmouth and Chinese or US insignia, they may think at first that only the AVG and US ARMY used the plane, which of course is far from true. Wouldn´t it be great to have every surviving P-40 painted in one of the different camouflage patters it wore: DAF, RAF, US ARMY, USSR, Brazilian AF, AVG...? What is better: variety or repetition?

  • @pramboy09 Yes, I think I know which you´re referring to: one with white bands on its wings, yellow prop spin and brown-and-green camouflage, right? If that´s so, however, I´m afraid it WAS THIS VERY P-40 (ZK-RMH) with his previous painting scheme. Bad new choice: just the same sharkmouth design once again, instead of having retained that former beautiful RNZAF painting... Lack of imagination or "globalization"?

  • @AlanMartinNala We now have a kitty hawk painted in RNZAF colours in the masterton in NZ to make you happy.

  • @RNZAFfreak and ray

  • very nice warplane I want one

  • Among countless warbirds of generally short span of service life(except B52), not every model got a timeless value owing to its pivotal historical role at a particular moment of time. Why artificially try to change the fun of history's authenticity? It's irreversibly there that enhances P40's value.

  • nice *****
