The first new track from the late, great singer Aaliyah has leaked online, and it looks like we have Drake to thank!
There were some rumors that I'm sure you guys heard, that Drake would be working with unreleased Aaliyah material to put out a new posthumous record.
A song called "Enough Said" just hit the web, which is billed as Aaliyah featuring Drake.
It's definitely got the signature, bluesy/r&b Aaliyah vocals, paired with a rap verse by Drake.
We'll make sure to include a link below so you guys can take a listen to it.
There's a little spark of controversy here though--- it comes as a result of some fans being angered that it's Drake putting out Aaliyah material, instead of Timbaland and Missy Elliot.
Timbaland actually spoke out about this whole thing, telling Power 105.1 , "...If (Drake) do it, it should be with me and Missy. The proper way for him to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. But to put it on his record, would just not be right."
And just as a little sidenote, Timbaland also revealed that he was in love with Aaliyah, but used his better judgment to resist.
Revealing what he considered to be a huge secret, Timbaland said, "When I first met Aaliyah... I was in love with her, but... she just a baby, I'm old. I said to myself, 'I'm just gonna be her brother.' Oh man, I was fightin', I was fightin' a lot—a big war. But I loved Aaliyah."
So what do you guys vote for? New Aaliyah songs by Drake, or new Aaliyah songs by Timbaland and Missy Elliot?
