This is my Miele from 1983. It would have been the TOL model in the line up I believe? with on board tools and variable power with Automatic mode. Its only 1000w but is incredibly power for a vacuum of that age and motor wattage and is actually as powerful as some modern vacuums with double the power. I can only put this down to having a well designed motor and big 35mm tools with big air flow.

The Automatic mode works by reducing the motor power depending on the surface being vacuumed. A great machine, typical Miele quality.

  • Similar to my S238i with the speed control on the handle. Whats odd is that the speed control also changes the P/N speed.
