  • @designerhell WAY ahead of you! My friends and I, all teens, go ballroom dancing most Friday nights and we KICK ASS doing this very dance among so many others!!!

  • Thanks! This is the best BNP I've found on YouTube as a reference to remind myself how to do it :-) I don't get to do it as often as I'd like. In this one, most are doing the right thing and the shots are clear as to what the steps are.

  • This is awesome! It is fast becoming a tradition to do this dance at the annual Ball at my college. And it is SO MUCH FUN to dance to! My favourite parts are the pivots (0:46-0:57 and 2:17-2:28) :D

  • @Kate0603 You'd love the party we go to then. It's called Friday Night Waltz, and where we live, in the Bay Area (California), aka the Vintage Dancing Capital of the World, it's HUGE! We dance waltzes of all kinds, polkas, schottisches, some Latin dances- really anything you can imagine. People from ALL ages and walks of life attend and, as we teens like to say, "party like it's 1899". Truly, a joy to behold!

  • @dancemastah44 That's fantastic! As an avid dancer (I love ballroom dancing, and Viennese waltz and polka are probably my favourites), I am thrilled to hear that. I often feel that dancing with, not at, a partner is a dying art, and I'm delighted to know that some teens keep it going.

  • Just TRY and get the kids to dance like THIS today! Funky, funky!

  • I was actually in the audience at this performance eons ago. I think it took place in Mem Aud. It was amazing to see the performance in person, as this video doesn't do it justice. Though it does serve as a reminder of the steps for when I head back to the Farm for a Big Dance or Viennese Ball.

  • I agree! There is no such thing as dancing too professionally. Professional dancers make dancing look easy and delightful.

  • too professional? no such thing. more like historically accurate. yes, the stage was a little on the small side for the number of dancers in this performance. not a problem as they were perfectly staggered and they precisely held their positions. observe how there were no collisions, and their poised acting never indicated they were trying to avoid each other.

  • wonderful ! but too professional and crouded!
