A simple experiment to prove with a low-tech downdraft gasifier you can produce charcoal and clean renewable energy as seen in the fist stage of startup.
When the charcoal layer had moved up the inner cone to reach the full diameter of the reactor, (Thus giving off the maximum amount of gas) I opened up the updraft air as well (Up/downdraft inspired by Agua Das's "Dasifier") as seen in the second clip. The only input was a small compressor that was using 3.4A of power.
Only innovation (If that!) was I coiled the compressed air tube inside the reactor to super heat the air. My thoughts here were the air would expand and this would reduce the load on the compressor as well as make the super heated O2 more ready to react with the syngas.

Air Recycling Technology if used in Vacuum Cleaners could save annually in the UK, an amount of energy equal to that generated by 800 Medium sized wind generators. This is based on tests made for the DTI and MTP. That is 1.5 TWh of electricity worth £225 million and 650,000 Tonnes of CO2. And a saving of more than 25 Twh of electricity annually is possible in the EU. Equal to £3.25 Billion pounds and 13.5 million tonnes of CO2. It is still waiting for Government help. Your work has been an inspiration to me to take gasification and producer gas to a new level.I've just completed tests generating wood gas using the Joe Pipe and a bit of propane to see what the burn would be like. It's very similar to what you have.Check out recents vids 200 to 203 if I remember correctly under joe pipeRobb Ryder added a swirl device to his 1 by 10 inch Joe Pipe and was able to produce a tight fire tornado effect. The wood gas definately has a posative reaction.Cheers. Joshua.
Hey sirHOAX, If you do a search for the "Dasifier" on Tom Reed's site that should give you a good base to start from. All I did different was I coiled the compressed air inside the main chamber to super heat it and pulled the air back (Not 3 diameter lengths from the nozzle) so I wouldn't get clinkers. If you want more info just email agrisonic "at" gmail

Keep up the great work, will be looking forward to more videos of greater detail on the build..
