And you have yet to explain why taking drugs is deviant. People take drugs every day from their first cup of coffee to the nightcap that they put themselves down with at night. I'm sure you're of the opinion that taking insulin isn't deviant?

You support drug laws that are based on racism and sexism (Google the Harrison tax act). You support drug laws that cause crime. You support drug laws that hinder medical advances. That is deviant.

Your reading comprehension seems to be lacking.

My mantra is that if drugs are sold at market value, as opposed to the black market inflation of up to 400% people wouldn't be robbing, mugging, killing to get them and they wouldn't be living marginal lives that revolve around scraping up funds for an inflated item and be able to work and contribute to society.

You have yet to explain how drug addiction is deviant. Get that sorted then you can make other irrelevant comments.

Answer me this: Is it deviant to take a medication that is working, has no discernable side effects and is prescribed by a doctor away from a person? That's what the gov't does every year. Look into the 7 different years that clinical amphetamines were rescheduled then compare it to the rise in crysal meth use. Look at how much drug crime rose and how quickly crack hit after the Nixon administration.

The "deviance" you speak of is created by prohiibition, not addicts.

Many people use illegal drugs to medicate illness, especially in societies where health care is too expensiive for certain classes or inadequate to treat certain concerns, hence, the term self medicate. Despite this, addiction is an illness...you can get addicted to shopping.

Drug addicts steal and kill to afford the 400% markup on a peoduct because of it's illegal status and varying availability . If this is the deviance that you speak of legal status would abolish it.
