The deal was refuted by the Arabs because it gave 56% of the land to only one third of the people (mostly immigrants), including the best seaport. Moreover, even in the part given to Israel there were thousands of Palestinians. The "war of 1948" was nothing but an ethnic cleansing; Palestinian Christian and Muslim villages were destroyed to give way to Jewish settlements. They are trying to suffocate Arab land in the West Bank today by building settlements and making people's lives miserable.
