I was able to get one of these tasty new units into the studio to have a play.

  • do you need the audio 8 or any other sound card to wire it thru midi ? or does it go in straight to the laptop ?

  • Not specifically. The VCM600 connects to the laptop via USB - so you could use any soundcard..

  • áááá ez kurva joo!! 5*

    bejön :)

  • cool music

  • If you were looking at something for production/studio duties as well - the Korg Zero8 would be wicked - it has the mic pre's, as well as heaps of in's and out's for plugging in external kit.

Remember, the VCM600 is only a midi controller..

  • yeah ive been kicking that around too so i can add in a deck for scratching but i've read a lot of negative reviews about the zero 8 and the sound quality being really poor.

its tough cause i feel like there isnt 1 piece of gear that will fulfill everything i need it to do, especially since i want to get into writing/production as well.

guess i'll just keep searching for the right combo.

  • still thinking: Vestax VCM-600 or Korg zero 8?

  • let me start by saying i really dig the vibes you lay down here. also those effect cut ups you do are no joke! seriously awesome.

after watching what you do here i feel as though this is they way i want to take my djing. i love the idea of this unit for so many reasons and i think this would make an amazing heart to djing while using ableton live.

i have a question if you dont mind. are you able to hook this up in conjunction with real decks in order to do scratching as well?

  • It totally depends on what you want to do.

The point of it all is ment to be the music, not how many effects you have over the mix.

  • I have been thinking about that as well... I was set on the APC 40 but this looks like it would be better for me. The APC has endless faders wich I do not like. For me with the techno I am ore interested in having dedicated fx knobs not really that interested in changing clips vertically. There seems to be more control with the vestax. Playing on djmixers for years this is my calling...
