  • @brismike65 "Don't you" got the crowd going at Dalby Forest too! Many bottles of water were flying around the crowds! They were also a lot of drunk people there too (but not me! lol!). Same songs played as you mentioned. "Speed your love" was not played. Thanks Mike.

  • @toptonychick oh geez how can I forget - Someone Somewhere in Summertime. Sadly, many were drunk but us hardcore fans were at the front, but Jim only had to rev up the crowd twice, obviously Don't You gets such a crowd going, but Waterfront, Love Song and Celebrate, well it was like I was watching a young new band. Brilliant.

  • @toptonychick Waterfront, Love Song, Celebrate, Once Upon a Time, All The Things She Said (out of order the rest), Moscow Underground, Broken Glass Park, Dont You, Big Sleep, Promised/Glittering, New Gold Dream, Alive and Kicking, Sanctify Youself, I might have left something out but it did go for over an hour

  • @brismike65 Lol! I don't spam anyone, Mike! I've seen Jim dance before at the end of the Newcastle gig 2009. Glad you loved it! I think they have better than in 2009 (my opinion). I carn't wait to here what was in the set list too (if they have changed it). Cheers Mike. So glad it was a success.

  • @brismike65 Now please don't spam me mate :) I know I should have messaged you but I am in awe of SM - having seen Alice Cooper, Gary Numan and Suzi Quatro, SM as well this year, all perfect performers. After Sanctify, the band came to the front of the stage and over the speaker was Bryan Ferry's Let's Stick Together and Jim and Mel were dancing LOL. Charlie's playing was good. Tony, it was the best SM show I have ever seen, I could lament about what was not played, but, sheer perfection

  • @brismike65 They did Celebrate :)) so happy, started with Waterfront, Love Song and Celebrate with drum machine, Mel's drumming was perfect, it was loud as which was great, went over an hour, Broken Glass Park sounded good and people did clap along, Stagefright I think they did it, Promised You A Miricle and Glittering Prize were like in the 80's, Someone/Once Upon/All Things but surprise was Big Sleep, I had the looped synth bit going in the speaker above me. Alive/Sanctify closed it well

  • Ok excuse the long posts might have to do 2. Ok first THE SHOW WAS BRILLIANT, a classic SM show with something for the hardcore fans like me and the usual anthems to get the crowd of mostly drunk bogans going. Jim and Charlie looked fit, Jim had more energy and he's older than me! Gem's bass was as good as Derek's and John's, synths were good, it was perfect, Jim lost it a bit on New Gold Dream but picked up and the lady backing singer was great - second post

  • @brismike65 Cheers Mike! Hope it goes well and hope it lasts more than 1 hour. Let us know how it goes. I'm sure it will be an excellent gig! Cheers!

  • @toptonychick yes put Speed Your Love to Me on it. Jim and Charlie have arrived and its cold here which is so not like Queensland. The sound checks are tomorrow and despite the rain the forecast is for sunny Saturday and a fine Saturday night. I will message you on here on Saturday or Sunday with how it went. They may only do an hour, but its better than missing out like last year and any song will do, but its obvious Alive and Kicking will be there. Thanks Tony will let you know.

  • @brismike65 Good suggestions, Mike, would be "Speed your love to me" or "She's a river" (to name two for starters). They were not played in the UK! Interesting that they seem happy to change the set list so quickly! Thanks!
