How to backfire a motorcycle

For all those hooligans out there who just can get someone responsible to tell them how.

See the examples - the bike is a CT110. The second bang was the loudest but on the recording it just sounds like thunder... And yeah, they sound a LOT louder in person.

First of all, find a four stroke motorcycle. It needs to be a fourbanger I'm afraid - 2 stinkers need not apply. Next, leave your mechanical sympathy at home. Theres no place for such things here. Then, find somewhere appropriate or innappropriate to practice, depending on preference.

And now the fun:

Ride along in second or third (third is better because you need a bit of speed). Close the throttle completely. Then flick the emergency stop switch - and start pumping that throttle. About 10 times should do it - depending on the bike. Then close the throttle again. Then let the bike keep rolling forward for 2 - 3 seconds. Then point at someone and flick that switch back on!

If you have trouble, make sure to keep the throttle closed when you turn the switch on and off. Also make sure you wait a few second before turning the switch back on - you really need to get all that fuel deep into the engine to get a truly satisfying bang.

nah if you flick the kill switch it just turns the ignition off so theres no spark in the chamber

so the fuel keeps flowing into the chanber and then into the exhausts without getting burnt

and then when you turn the kill switch back on the sparkplugs start sparking again and all that unburnt fuel ignites

only 4 those bike with the start on the handle isit? cannot the middle ignition key?

Its not the start button, its the emergency stop button. I thought all bikes had them? You could probably backfire your bike if you used the ignition key instead though

Don't EVER try turning the ignition key if you've got a steering lock!!!

@TheHolySpirit i haven't seen a steering lock that will lock without the bars being turned nearly if not all the way to the left. or the rare occasion the bike has a right handed kickstand the right.

@drummerdudex017 yes im sure of that.. im not expert at mechanics but i think that will damage your piston, valves and spark plug...but i bet there is much more damaged parts than that

i backfire my bike by just getting up to average speed then coast for about five seconds (this sucks raw fuel into the chambers) turn back on the kill switch and point my finger at the asshole that cut me off..!

its because when people go fast and do it, they make the classic 'gun' shape with their hand, because your going fast. The people cant see that its just your hand, then when your pointing your 'gun' at them, you backfire the bike, sometimes sound like a gunshot then people think you have shot them. Atleast, other people think you have shot the person you where pointing at.
