@owlie14 It's moonshine, technically it's a type of whiskey not beer, and it's home made so it can be what ever proof the still wanted it to be...
For all you know, it could have been 210 proof.. Not to mention, three out of the four that consumed it were small children.

I love this cartoon, but this was actually released in 1930, not 1931.

It's just acting, toons actually can't drink real alcohol (look what happened to Roger in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit") so they drink soda as a substitute and pretend to get drunk.
