@violetnike You must admit, the general tendency has changed.

The 1979 adaptation (mini-series) with Joana David, Anna Massey and Jeremy Brett is very good too. You can find it on You Tube and nowhere else, like a bunch of Jeremy Brett's appearances. To have a good summary of his career and know what to look for, have a glance to the video "A Journey Through Time"...

@violetnike I didn't say there are no real movies today. My comment did allude to my belief that many of the movies that make it to the big screen these days from Hollywood either are or contain a large amount of garbage. Back in the 30's and 40's studio heads were not only motivated by making money but inspiring the masses with stories that contained moral teachings. Today the dollar rules Hollywood. There are still some good movies but a larger percentage fail the quality test.

@sharonafox1 I hate it when people say stuff like that! Yes its a very good film and there are many brilliant old films. But to say there are no "Real" movies presently is kind of ignorant. Maybe you choose to focus on the junk? I think you'll find there are many brilliant films and awful ones, just like there used to be good and crap ones 'back then.' It's just only the good stand the test of time and therefore it's easier to forget the rubbish then it is currently.

She’s near she’s here (I: -oh no) She can see she can hear (I: -no) She’s a force you should fear Rebecca wherever you may be (I: she’s force) life sings your song as long as waves roar to the coast (I: a shadow of a ghost) Voices sigh in the air everywhere Rebecca Come back Rebecca You’re not meant to be a shadow of a ghost.

This is her brush her hair was full and dark I brushed it every night she wore satin and velvet she looked like a queen her smile was boyish when I saw her for the last time she won’t smile at me anymore but she’s near all the same Hear the wind, it is calling her name Rebecca Wherever you may be Life sings your song as long as waves roar to the coast Voices sigh in the air everywhere Rebecca Come back Rebecca You’re not meant to be a shadow of a ghost
This is back when they used to make "Real" movies instead of the garbage they call movies today.
