Aileen Stanley (1897 - 1982) was a leading singer of the 1920s. She had a fresh, light style, adept at novelty and blues-styled numbers. Her first stage appearance was at age six. Popular on records, sometimes with Billy Murray and others on novelty duets. In Broadway musicals "Silks and Satins" (1920, "Pleasure Bound" 1929, "Artists and Models of 1930". Sang in England in the early 1930s after U.S. recording ended. Mostly inactive later years with some radio transcriptions as late as 1947.
