  • Well peacelf. I like what you got to say! I really don't get the fundamentalist though. I'm not a big fan of a 'patriarchal' society, yet it's been around now for a few thousand years. I'm a firm believer that before the 'patriarchal' society's existed there where many 'matriarchal' society's. Maybe we need to give women a little more power and see if we can get some peace around the world. The mentality of men is just greed, war, and power. As for Jesus, let's just keep him out of politics.

  • It's assumed by too many atheists and agnostics that there's only one kid of Christian, and that's the right wing Christians who support Bush and corporate power. I am not that kind of Christian. I am a historical Jesus follower, to put it simply. As a philosophy on life, I chose Jesus teachings to love my neighbor as myself and do unto others as I would have them do unto me. It is Jesus' highest charge to us, and I accept it as an important truth for social justice in the world.

  • Well in that case please except my apologies. There is no law that states people can't practice what ever religion they want. Yet some of these idiots want to shove these beliefs down other peoples throats! For example this gay issue. So what! Let them be gay! It's older that any religion! Abortion. It's better to have a choice than to make it a law not to have a choice. LET 'GOD' DEAL WITH THEM WHEN THEY DIE. STOP JUDGING HERE ON EARTH! YOUR NOT YAHWEH, ELOHIM, JEHOVAH or WHAT EVER!

  • So, be honest. You didn't watch my video before you made all those negative comments?

  • Hey I felt that you threatened me and yes I'm an Asshole! I fight and I fight hard. As for a confrontation with you, NEVER. Your a radical. You probably want to live in Theocracy and have a christian taliban. A bunch of moronic followers! Lets not forget that your book was canonized in the year 325 AD and before that there was many books! Hey, you could deny it, but its true. Religion was used and is still used as 1. as political tool, 2. to civilize. and to answer silly question. Jesus=Jew.

  • You didn't listen to anything in my video. I'm a peace activist, a pacifist. I never threaten anyone. Moreover, I am challenging traditional fundamentalist/evangelical Christian beliefs. I don't believe in the virgin birth, resurrection and divinity of Jesus, except as metaphors for more important ideas. I suggest you watch my video again, with an open mind and put your prejudices against fundamentalist Christians aside.

  • There is a history to religion by the way and it doesn't start with Jesus. It's start with "The age of myths" oh I say about 35,000 BCE. It's when the Human species starts asking questions regarding the after life, the sky, the stars, the earth, etc... Way before science of course. A very, very superstitious time. It's when humans invented stories to answer there questions. That's what I believe in and I'm sticking to it. The Hindu religion starts off around 6000 bce before the semitics.

  • But is was believed to be divinely ordained. Through out history humans always did things because they thought the gods/god/goddess wanted them, but there has always been leader behind the idol. The trick is separation from church and state and No christian Taliban! Hopefully one day humans can evolve to become peace, loving and responsible species. With out the religious BS. But in till then we all have to watch our backs. Even if your a muslim, christian, jew, hindu, buddhist, or non-believer.

  • alman, that's an interesting spin on history. However, wouldn't it be great if we had a more pure version of Jesus' life and lessons, without the filters and additions of Roman imperialism? Manifest destiny is an euphemism for genocide of native peoples.

Many Jesus scholars have stripped away the stuff that probably wasn't Jesus' words, and what you're left with is about 20% of the stuff in the New Test is possibly Jesus'. See JEsus Seminar, John Dominic Crossan, or Elaine Pagels' work.
