This is what plays in the background wherever Samuel L. Jackson goes.

Sounds so good, love this bass line,,,,,I didn't know Dr. Evil played the bass
-
Wow, awesome!!!

sounds better here than on cd...Why are there 8notes for a riff? They make things up as they go or blind.

Nice - your tone is right on. I play the exact same P bass - vintage 76 - with medium Elixers and the action set like yours. I'm a aggressive pick player though, so I set my EQ with lots of low and med, and 1/3 high.
I can get a similar sound with my 88 Ric with the addition of added bite on each note.
Rock on bro!

Dude Awesome! I played guitar fora few years and it ended up in the closet for about three years. Then one day I was jammin out to The Lemon Song and the bass line just blew me away! That same day I went out and bought an American jazz bass and have been playing everyday since then! I just regret all the years I could of been playing. What drum machine are you using dude?

@hassanebray Thanks! Good choice getting into the bass. The drums on this recording are some groove loops played in Cakewalk Sonar recording software on my computer. Not very elaborate.

Hi !! I own a 78 P bass also, but i can't get your tone !! What kind of strings are using on it in this video ? Flatwound or Roundwound ? How did you set the action ? Let me know !!

I always use roundwound personally, (DR Sunbeams currently), but I've heard half-round and flat-wounds give a good Jones like tone. My bass is set to a medium low action. Basically as low as possible for each string, but without any 'fretting out' all the way up the neck. My tone is achieved mostly by using lots of low end, little mid range, and medium hight end if you have an EQ adjustment for your amp or recording gear. Thanks for commenting!
