Fraternitas Saturni - Part 1 - GOTOS, Mythos und Wahrheit - Brotherhood of Saturn

In 1926, the Fraternitas Saturni (Brotherhood of Saturn) founded by Eugen Grosche (Gregor A Gregorius) became the second order founded upon the Law of Thelema. Within this German fraternity, the opinion prevails that the magical influence of the New Aeon demands the permanent adaption of Aleister Crowley's teachings to the latest developments. As a consequence, the rituals of Saturn turned into a peculiar mixture of medieval magic, astrology, and a small admixture of Thelema. Albin Grau should have been appointed as first Grand Master of the F.S. He worked in films, collaborating as script-writer, costume-designer, and set-designer for UFA productions on films such as "Dr. Mabuse", "Vampire", and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". In the credits of F.W. Murnau's film "Nosferatu" (1922), "Alwin Grau" is mentioned as being responsible for the sets.

Myth: The central concept in F.S. lodges is that of the lodge Egregore (group spirit). GOTOS by name and created as a bust. This is also the highest rank in the F.S. (from 'Gradus Ordo Templi Orientis Saturni').

Truth: Johannes Maikowski, Grandmaster of the Fraternitas Saturni, appointed as successor by Eugen Grosche in December 1963, speaks with Peter-R. Koenig in August 2011.

You do get better and better in your very difficult task of turning solemn absurdities into hilarious absurdities. The introductory montage is absolutely masterful and captures wonderfully the essence of the kraut-occult. It seems that their shadows have more substance than their reality. Bringing humor into the mix is precisely what gives it life.

He wasnt because he didnt create the FS. Gregorious was the GM til his death (even among teh so called "splits" in the 60's)
