  • Do you have to sand before applying?

  • To get the best adhesion/performance, it is recommended that you prepare the surface with a 180 grit scratch before applying any glaze. Remember to not break through the basecoat/primer layer, though. If you do, you run the risk of solvent swell (repair mapping). Should you break this transition layer, you should take the repair down to bare metal before continuing.

  • Thanks for clearing that up for me. Our 3M rep showed us the new gun. We just got one last week, but have not had a chance to use it yet.  I think this is going to save a lot of time.
