This is awesome! Azrael is my favorite superhero, and it's great to see that he is not forgotten, even though this video is 4 years old. This game looks somewhat choppy, but I honor that you included Az in it. Like the commenters before me, I hate Lane. I picked up the first issue of his series immediately, but was so disappointed.

Also, in regards to Lane, he felt like a very forced character that was just put in the role without any proper thought. To me, he strikes me more as a Moon Knight knockoff than Jean Paul's successor. It's like DC wants everyone to forget about Jean-Paul by giving us Lane. If DC was smart they should have just resolved the Jean Paul matter and give him a proper sendoff and then have Lane as a separate character before giving him his own series so soon. DC's editorial stupidity at its finest.

@azraelangelofred, we agree completely on this. It's not the fact they replaced the original Azrael that I have a problem with is the fact that how he was replaced. First off, we get a crappy cliffhanger ending where Jean Paul's body was never found and then we get the impression that he was coming back in Booster Gold and Gotham Underground and then we just get a new guy out of the blue. Couldn't they have just resolved what happened to his body before confirming him dead and replacing him?

@kherubhm Oh, I believe it. And people will claim it's because Michael Lane Washington is black. Nothing personal, but he just doesn't fit the bill right in my opinion. Not his personality or anything. Costume is kinda gay too. And he's just too BLATANT about his Christianity. Jean Paul wasn't quite so much so. And I'm a Christian, too. But i agree. The new series will be cancelled probably very soon. When we heard Azrael was coming back, we all jumped for joy. then we found out it was a wannabe

Here is what the deal is, my friend: I think that DC brought back the original Azrael as a Black Lantern just to shut the fans up because nobody really warmed up to the new guy that they have in the role. They could have had the original Azrael appear in the new series and face his successor to make things interesting but they choose to have him make a random appearance. Typical editorial bias, I guess.

How much you want to bet that the current Azrael series will be cancelled very soon?

@kherubhm Yeah but they also brought him back in Blackest Night as a Black Lantern. Kinda sucks, but there's potential for more.

They kind of did recently by replacing him with a new guy called Michael Washington Lane who I guarantee you won't be mentioned in the same breath as his predecessor.

Geez, I never thought I'd see the day when my 2 favorite DC characters would be together in something. I miss Azrael, wish they'd bring him back.
