In a panel moderated by John Yoo at the American Enterprise Institute, Human Rights First President and CEO Elisa Massimino debates with Judge and former U.S. Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey and former Acting General Counsel of the CIA John Rizzo, amongst others, on torture. This panel was organized in response to the re-ignition of the torture debate coming out of the operation that killed Osama bin Laden. I applaud Massimino in engaging the other side in a debate on the issue; but a more honest presentation would have been to present the other side as well. Let viewers judge for themselves after hearing them speak rather than allow its opponents to (mis)characterize the arguments put forth by those who defend the CIA interrogation program.

What is disheartening is how "the young guy from Poland" has been misled and misfed distortions regarding the CIA program and hypebole regarding Guantanamo. It is the hysteria and misinformation regarding U.S. treatment of detainees that has harmed America's standing and reputation and fed into jihadi propaganda for recruitment purposes- not what America actually has done.
100 HVTs in the CIA program. 30 received EITs. Only 3 waterboarded. And yes, there are different ways to waterboard.
