Helen Price Clark made many popular recordings between 1910 and 1930. She was called a contralto on some recordings and a mezzo-soprano on others.

Her talent developed early in life for, even as a child, she was known for her phenomenal voice. She began singing in church choirs at the age of 9. When she was 17 she went to New York and studied under Madame Jaeger of the Metropolitan Opera for 2 years.

She was also one of Edison's most popular Edison artists on discs and cylinders.

  • Bob, I want to go to the Valley of the MOON, that magical place where lovers meet. I love the song, the romantic lyrics, the vocal and the beautiful sheet music.

    Thank you so much.

  • I wasn't even thinking when I posted this moon song. I forgot how you are a lunatic:)

  • Wonderful song and duet! I'm fond of that gorgeous sheet music...

  • I actually had two choices on this one but went with this one.

  • Never heard of here but my grandparents had a lot or recordings by Henry Burr..........too bad sound wasn't improved until the '20's - some of these stars voices would have been much better.

  • There is an electric recording on my channel with her singing with Franklyn Baur. The song is Normandy. There are also other acoustical recordings on my channel with her in them too.
