Will the economy get worse?

Michael Panzer reacts to Timothy Geithner's testimony on the Hill today and will discuss Barack Obama's FY 2011 budget. Panzner says that today was just more theatre on capitol hill and he doesnt think the U.S. economy has weathered the worst of the financial storm and believes the White House's crisis response threatens America's future prosperity.

The economy today means energy. All other forms of commerce is the direct result of cheap and abundant energy. People will not be told when peak oil has arrived, it will just happen to them. We may be forced back to a sub-billion population if we don't get the fossil fuel substitute sorted out soon, and that will be one of mankind's most important undertakings to date. Strange times we may see.

Because of peak oil, peak phosphorus, etc. The USA will, by our own wastefulness and lack of alternative energy supply infrastructure development will do ourselves in. The world's absolutely huge fossil fuel energy dept will cause the whole world into the coming intense resource wars. If climate change does occur then our already being at a straining point will push us over the brink.

@JinxOz Heck if I know. Right now the FED is untouchable. I'd say to support candidates that want to reform, or preferably eliminate, the FED, but almost no candidates talk about such things.

@JinxOz The number one source of the problem in the economy is the FED. Don't expect any change there. Ron Paul very mild attempt at FED reform has met with crushing resistence.
