@mistertom718 Full credit to Tom for writing such a great song. I prefer Farnham's version, but that's probably cos I'm an Aussie.
Farnham has brought 3 of Tom's songs to an audience in Australia - this one, Angels, and Hearts on Fire. Given that John's CDs used to make it to no. 1, with sell-out concerts, that's a lot of people here that appreciate Tom's songs and John's interpretation of them.

This is played in the same key as "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen. You could do a medley of the two side by side. Both tunes came out about the same time. If I knew how to edit patriotic footage, I could make a killer re-do.

I love this song. Lived on the west coast when it was released and heard it on the radio all the time. Moved back east and found that no one had even heard of this song. My kids even love this song!!!!!

I'm an Aussie who loves Johnny Farnham but it is a great song and full credit to Tom Kimmel for writing such a great song! Freedom is something we should all enjoy and stamp you foot down if anyone even THINKS they can touch yours!

I hope that Tom gets the recognition that he deserves. Yes John Farnham's version is great, but credit and no doubt royalties should go to him.

I can't believe alot of people haven't heard of Tom Kimmel. They have no idea what they're missing! I wish they would re-release his albums. He deserves it.
