@greg8698 totally agree. i had hard time with early concerts by olivia because the back ups did not sound like her! Sheena Easton and Pat Benatar also did the same. They had huge vocal ranges and could do it all.

Don´t stop believin' you are the best woman singer on the world. Your fan since 1978.

She became known in the States when I was in high school, and that devastating combination of beauty, voice, femininity and sweetness hit me hard. No matter where I go or who I meet in my life, I fully expect to die still in love with Olivia Newton-John.

The japanese translation says *love at the dusk*?? Seems all translations are mismatched!

This song is so beautiful it makes me cry.

INCREDIBLE VOICE !

Now this is what I call music. Music back then was AMAZING compared to music today, which kinda sucks. I mean, Olivia Newton John was truely an phenomenal woman, her voice is crystal clear, and amazing, such a beautiful sound. And she is one gorgeous lady!! I loved her in Grease, and Xanadu, and all of her movies. I think that music back then are alot better than modern music, because now-a-days, people write songs about boys, girls, sex, money.. artists wasnt like that back then. Kinda sad.

This song brings back of lot of memories from my adolescence.
I kinda find it ironic that ONJ and Journey are enjoying a resurgence in their careers due to the TV series "Glee", yet both have hit songs with the same title.
Wouldn't mind seeing Liv take a shot at covering the Journey 'DSB' tune though. I think she can put on a performance comparable to Steve or Arnel.

@JavierL2 Actually, I do think that Journey's song is indeed titled "Don't Stop Believin'". Not that it matters much, because both songs in their own unique ways are pretty damn awesome. I'll gladly take Olivia over Steve Perry, though, for eye candy any day.

Another one of my very favorites of Olivia. I remember her singing this on her 76 TV special and how beautiful she looked and sounded. It made me fall in love with the song
Isn't she a true legend in the music industry! What few people realize is that because of her ability to cover almost 4 registers, she sang all of the back up vocals on this song as well as the lead. Like her best friend, Karen Carpenter, they don't make them like this anymore. While they try so hard, none of todays artists can even come close to this talented singer.

What most people do not realize is that outside of live performances, when she cut this song in the studio, she sang all of the back-up on this song by herself. That means she covered 4 octaves by herself. That is what one would call a talented "real singer." Todays female singers couldn't do what she did on this song in the studio, in a million years. Clear as crystal, smooth as silk and enough range to cover the Saraha Desert. Totally amazing. Todays singers couldn't carry her suitcase.
