Igorots - Ambuaya, Atok, Benguet (Rest Your Love On Me)

Sometime in December 2008, we went home to Ambuaya, Atok, Benguet to do some necessary ceremony in favor of a deaths request (through dreams) and also to partake in the "lawit" (done by a relative of recently buried love one once he get home).

Can someone explain to me why the i-Benguets exhume their dead and rebury it again? And what's the ritual that follows?

It is a fact that we Filipinos have high regards and reverence with our deads. Igorots also believe in the afterlife, and there is still a connection of this world to other world. Most becomes mediator between Kabunian and man, or are believed to be so. (Notice the elderly when they talk during wakes for the dead).

Why do they exhume and re-bury them...pls google it..there might be better explanations in the net.
