My church needed 5 animal masks for our Christmas play, and I volunteered to give it a try. I had never done paper mache before, but after making 5 of these big things (with help... may I happily add) I feel kind of expert!!

The process:
Either measuring and cutting out dozens and dozens of shapes and taping them together, or molding chicken wire into animal heads. Then covering with paper mache (flour + water with newspaper) and letting them dry. Then we glued them to helmets so they could be worn as head pieces, not covering the actors/actresses faces. They were painted by an awesome airbrusher from my church (a kind man, for doing so!) and were worn for 5 performances.

It was. so. fun. doing these.

Enjoy!
