If Dickerson would have had Tory Holt & Isaac Bruce to run with (Warner QB), instead of the ultra deceptive, 60 minutes of "student body right, student body left", he would have had far fewer carries...but averaging about 12 yards per carry
Air Coryell has a way of keeping the secondaries & often the LB's well off the line of scrimmage. Especially with the thunderbolt & lightning of Holt & Bruce...DB's needed 5 more yards of a head start if they were going to have a chance at ball's arrival

I remember when he first turned pro he kept slipping, on grass and turf. He had a lot of potentially huge runs cut short. Finally they checked out his cleats and found that they were about the cheapest you could buy! ED didn't like to spend money but eventually got him some good shoes and the rest is history. He was the best thing to happen to the Goats, er, Rams till Warner and Faulk came along...
