Here is what they need to do;
Collect the rain if and when it falls and protect it.
Protect all lands suitable for farming by planting acacias or local hardy trees near it(to reduce wind).
Selective breed strains to tolerate the lack of water and still grow large enough.
And stop sending only food aid, send them some tools and equipment, teach them how to care for their lands and to grow on them.

No one really knows how to adapt to constantly changing climate. Why does anyone assume that climate change effects will suddenly level off and stop?

Our future generations will be all that's left of us. Working to protect their habitat should be considered a matter of self-preservation. There's a really good YouTube vid that shows a man stepping off the railroad tracks to avoid a train but he leaves a young girl behind. What would those future generations think if we don't try to improve their chances? I consider it immoral not to do what we can and lucky to be in a position to do so.

the picture of all of africa's misery you see in this film and with the hunger and disease await all of mankind without fossil fuel to save the day. the technological green solutions that are so un- viable for Africa today will also be un- viable for the entire globe. yes it truly is the golden era of mankind thanks to the fossil fuel revolution.

@ReduceGHGs yes im so fortunate that its still 200 years away.

Who said only the rich use fossil fuels? Where did that come from?
It may be that nature forces use to move to sustainable living by reducing our numbers. Our "golden era" years may well come to an unpleasant end.
This video is not saying that GMO seeds are the solution - but rather local seed sovereignty, where communities can produce and multiply their own seed stock year on year .
