3d Popup Card Holly Hobbie Butterfly Tree

A silhouette of Holly Hobbie walking up to a tree full of individually-cut butterflies. I wanted to fill up the back of the tree with butterflies as well, but it was getting late, and the job was definitely rushed. Instead I threw a kite up into the tree (you can see it at the beginning)--maybe the Charlie Brown in me wanted a break ;)

Made 9/09 and 9/11 2010 for a six-year old daughter of a friend, who is a fan of Holly Hobbie.

Note: this is not a complete card, another artist insisted on making the cover later (this explains why the tree is sticking out at the beginning).

Holly is curly-haired, but my recipient has beautiful straight jet-black hair; I hope the effort to reflect that in the silhouette isn't lost on her when she finally opens it.
