King Edward died in May, 1910...so we'll assume this movie was set in the spring of 1910 just shortly before his death. It does have kind of a march / April look to it.

Ladies & Gentlemen, observe a master at work. Very Seldom in these golden ages would a performance be edited together with Cutting Room trickery, nor was it required. For Tomlinson set a whole new standard. Watch how his élan never betrays him as he says "The Age of Men"; with his hands behind his back; bobbing up & down with finesse & vivacity, it's clear to me that this special talent is so very absent in today’s films.
This man's talent was only matched by his modesty. A true gentleman.

David Tomlinson was an absolute master and just WAS an Edwardian gent. Simultaneously authoritative and yet twinkly eyed. A lovely voice too. The part where he relinquishes his post at the bank is one of the most moving in in all of cinema.
LOL "splendid! splendid!"
