  • Baucus's job is to protect the profits of the corportations that donate large sums of money to most of our elected officials. Pharma corporations are public traded companies that do not make money by curing people but having patients take their products to maintain a certain level of health. Both segments "donate" large sums of money to the puppet politicians in DC.

They are not working to protect the interest of the average American. Corporations run our government and dictate policy.FASCISM!

  • This is the biggest scam in recent history! Insurance companies, HMos and big pharma writing our national health care policy! It's an outrage and people should be in the streets. Shut down all business, go on a national strike no more work until we get a real hearing on single payer.

  • one thing to fix this.....term limits. this will make it more difficult for these cowards to get in bed with and develop relationships with lobbyists.

  • Max Baucus = Corrupt Senator. Kick him out.

  • P.S. The House of Representatives is slated to return on January 12, 2010, and the US Senate on January 19, 2010. Even before that, though, leaders in the House and Senate are planning closed-door backroom meetings to negotiate all of their "deals" to try and get this thing passed.

  • Obama promised repeatedly that ALL negotiations for a healthcare plan would be broadcast on C-SPAN, but like so many of his promises, it was all a LIE. (Nancy Pelosi and her cronies even laughed at a reporter's suggestion that they should stick to Obama's campaign promises). From the "Cash for Cloture" deals in the Senate, to these backroom deals in the House, the liberal leadership has been exposed for its duplicity.

  • Single payer is a bad joke! Government option is bad for the people!

  • 12/7/09: On Monday at a White House briefing, any suggestion of ties of Sen. Max Baucus' affair with his live-in girlfriend Melodee Hanes to the White House, where Sen. Max Baucus' former staffer Jim Messina serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, were rejected by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. He said nobody there knew of the affair (between Sen. Max Baucus, D-Montana, who wasn't divorced from his second wife, and his girlfriend Melodee Hanes...

  • We're all screwed. As long as the House and Senate...and Congress are full of these corrupt piles of dung, we are all screwed!

  • Baucus did the same thing with federal Indian policy - he took lots of money from tribal governments and casinos, and then held hearings and invited only tribal government and their supporters. He wouldn't let any of the regular tribal members or those that opposed what tribal government said be heard.
