I rode Phil's Trail in May. (Video is posted, Click "More from: kpmull" and scroll down.) I really like riding in Bend. Weather didn't really cooperate during my trip. It rained most of the time but I was able to get rides in everyday just before the clouds let loose. Shevlin Park in Bend is also a MUST Ride.
16 miles total. We did Gibson Jack Creek the day after this. Both rides kicked my butt. It would be easier (more fun) if you had someone drive up to the E. Fk. Mink Creek trail head in the campground. But we rode the whole way up to the campground. Good cardio workout especially since your are riding above 5000' the whole way. Pocatello area has GREAT mountain biking that no one knows about.
sounds like something I have to do when i visit Idaho in April next year. If it isnt cold, where did you start? Are you a serious mountain biker? like have you done some of the harder rides out there?
These trails will all be snow covered in April. Gotta ride in AZ, UT and NV in April. Some places in Boise should be dry by April but ALL the high country will still be in snow. Hell this trail isn't even free of snow in early June sometimes.
Well, I need to tweak my plans then huh? But I really want to do that ride after seeing some of your vids, is one of the better rides you've done? AZ isn't scenic enough, im not a desert kind of guy.
I like Phil's Trail so much, that would be the one that I recommend. Bend Oregon is on the map because of that place!
