I liked this (1969), pop & hit the times. Nina Simone, was too polemic for me.
But now I actually think it better. But I still l;ove this. Bob Andy's voice makes it.

@Skimmerranks ... yeah, I agreee, my heart just melts!!! I have grooved along to this song since I was a young teenager in the late 70s. They were so cool, and such simple, powerful lyrics. I'm a middle-aged white fella in Australia, and wish our a song like this could inspire some of our indigenous young people

Why is this song so fantastically moving? I don't know - but it is so evocative, so moving. Old twisted and white, I might be, but this touches me deeply - beautiful beautiful beautiful.
