@durangoandsilverton This locomotive is the real deal. Built by Lima Locomotive Works and completed on 5-22-1920 construction number 3118. It is a B10-2 class two truck shay weighing in at 22,600 pounds as built. It was bought by its current owner in 2003. All the info is at gearlocomotives. com search the survivors list for #3118.

@dragonpullman Not the smallest built, as the Class A Shay used an upright boiler and two cylinders on a short wheelbase. Lima Locomotive Works, Inc., built Class B Shays such as the example this vid for a variety of gauges and tonnages.

Would it be safe to say that this is the smallest operating Shay, or smallest Shay ever built?
Too cool, love the sound of the & action of Shay!

Yeah they are cool locomotives... basically steam powered diesels or billy goats!

Wow, not sure really, This is a guys private track in Bradford PA, not sure how much he bought it for. He's got a bunch of ground too, with many wells on it. I'm not sure to be honest. I'm sure it was a bit more pricey than the 1/8 scale I mess with!
