  • i'm new to using 3d max 2009. i start up the program i get 4 grey backgrounds. how do i get the grid with the x and y axis to show up?

  • Sorry for the late reply, atlanta - but hit G for grid. And what WM says is also true, there are a lot of tutorials in max for the basics, as well as a pretty good index for quick searches.

  • Hey um how do you animate him and put him in the game itself?

  • select an object first... that thing is called the gizmo.

also, there's a lot about Max that could take ages to explain... best bet? read the manual and do the tutorials. that will cover most of the things you'll need.
