@LazerDude99 you're quick ^ ^ ! I was still busy writing my last comment when you answered 3 minutes sooner. Well, as I'm keen on drawing I won't say Arkham Asylum didn't have any impact on me ^ ^, and I particularly liked the way the characters are depict (even if they almost don't act, they don't seem bland at all). It's not a story for me.But it still some kind of great art exposition which speaks more to our guts than to our reasoning, i suppose we both agree on that last point.
@DrMilgram As for the weird uncomprehensible parts, I dont hate when the authors want the reader to (try to) figure by themselves what's happenning. I hate it when the whole story is like this and when comprensible parts are just disorderly thrown to make us think the author knows where's is going (when they're not nothing but maccguffins).
@DrMilgram I see where you are comeing from and it is a fair enough point but for me what is does it does really well even if it doesn't do anything more the just show us the maddness
@DrMilgram That's why I've found some laziness out of this: we can tell a lot of things about madness, here we have nothing but scarce elementary notions (Joker has no stable personnality, Dent can't choose by himself, madness can't be measured, we don't know the boundaries between madness and healthy spirit, oh and Scarecrow likes to chase Batman : there's absolutely no discoveries in this).
I was disapointed (hopefully just borrowed it). Probably because this comic book only taught me things I already knew about batman's villains (on wikipedia... which of course borrowed from the same comic book). As for the drawings they're astounding. The problem is that I like stories where I may understand at least where the story goes. It's like a pile of gorgeous posters, it's very inspiring, but it basically tells us : we're talking about madness, you can't comprehend, deal with it.
@connerspencern yeah the news pannels where anoying to me to the first time I went through it.... it took about 3 reads before I got the whole scope of the story....
@LazerDude99 BUMMER! I tried to get other people to read it, but they hate the animation, which I tell them gets better, or they hate the news-panels. Only one person that I've loaned it to has enjoyed it, so I'm surprised to how my copy isn't destroyed.
great review =] im ordering it in a bit!
