CITY OF HEROES: Freedom - Convergence (Issue 21 Trailer - Come Together)

#49 rings in with my full-length trailer for CITY OF HEROES: FREEDOM, and its inaugural issue "Convergence"! While the official launch is still in our future, the VIP Head Start begins today, so I wanted to make sure it started with a bang...

This one was TOUGH... there's so much involved in COH:F and I-21 that I was stuck for the longest time on how to fit everything in! (I was originally looking at a 10-minute video... no joke.) From new story arcs to a new hybrid subscription model, the Paragon Market and Rewards program, a new zone, and so much more! Plus all the little goodies like additional costume sets and graphics/sounds/music updates that just enhance the overall experience, it is just fantastic!

(And let me just give a quick shout-out here to Paragon Studios' Beastyle and TheNet, who were just hell-on-wheels great for helping me get filming done. Neither beta server downtime nor borked demofiles, reclusive Seeds of Hamidon nor permanent daylight in First Ward could stop this video from being made.)

Of course, to showcase this awesomeness, I needed an awesome piece of music to go with it, and am proud to feature an original piece, "Power", by Esolate! (Check out Esolate's AudioJungle profile at http://audiojungle.net/user/Esolate - it is well worth the listen!)

can't say i think of the char creator as 'improved' (met people who didnt know what they were just 'ranged' or 'melee' ...one called themseves a 'coruptor blaster' ) and they removed the option for detailed info on the powers at creation (thinking maybe not to overload new players?) and not a gripe on the game so much as the players but DFB could really use a xp cap was disgusting seeing a lv 50 +1 TW/fire brute less then 24hrs after it went on sale

but your vids? always great! :D

@6661313 One thing about all that I CAN say. TW was accidentally leaked a week or so ago for about 5 minutes. 12 people made characters before it was pulled. The devs let them keep them - hence they were able to still level them. You probably saw one of them. :)

prob a dumb question... how do i get to the new zone? i went to praetoria and couldn't find my way there

@tw1ztid1 There's an entrance in Underground Imperial City, I think... or if you're in Primal Earth, the entrance is in Talos (behind the Arena) or Sharkshead (I forget exactly where). When you ding 20, you'll get a new contact that will tell you how to get there.

@samuraiko didn't hear about the leak , but when i found out what they guy was when i showed up to help and refused he said he got it by doing 'sewer runs all day!' (as if that was a long time >.> lol

came back to watch the vids before when i heard your name mentioned on the TW ustream (watched the repeat) funny how vids you have of stuff i already did in the game made me more excited about it then the first time i tried them out myself lol :)

I think the new button placement may be a bit small for my resolution, and it came in buggy, (missing my Cape of the Four winds on new characters for example, but that is a rare piece for most folk (original CoH DVD edition special item)) but I like the new background colors, it is easier to see the colors on your costume as they will appear in game.

I love the new tutorial, but wish there was an option to fight in outbreak and breakout still for us Vets...

@samuraiko Was talking about the actual game not your cool video as I find making a new character now way more confusing than it used to be but maybe the new players won't have a problem with it.
