You know,I also grew up in that era and I always had a soft spot for him for some reason.I read his obituary in the newspaper and was very surprised at the coverage that was given to him.I felt that it was an era in wrestling that came to an end.I liked the him very much.He was respected by all.

McMahon was a great announcer. He never should have gotten involved in storylines.

I watched the WWE for 21 years. I still the commentary between Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. They were awesome announcers. RIP Gorilla Monsoon. We'll never forget you. You'll always be in our hearts.

I heard that he used to get into the ring for a match wearing an expensive jacket, take it off slowly, fold it up carefully, then drop it to the mat and kick it out of the ring XD Classic.
Proud to say I grew up during the era Monsoon and Heenan did commentary.
"Will you STOP??"

The rapport between Gorilla and Heenan was priceless! Those two kept me entertained for years! I was truly saddened at Gorilla's passing. Sadly, just like the death of Gordon Solie, Gorilla's death leaves a HUGE void in wrestling commentary. I would like to see Vince McMahon return to announcing. Jim Ross, Lawler, and Vince would be GREAT together! I can't stand Michael Cole or Booker T! Just like today's wrestlers, the announcers aren't even as good as they used to be!
