The real question, when in the mythos time frame?

Are you likely to get more fans with fraggle rock, with battle of Hoth/Endor, or Jedi/drama.

I totally avoid the Jedi question. (I get a little bored of the "hero worship" Star Wars likes to follow.)

So, a question of what sort of platform to have the characters. "Star Trek; DS-9"

But then look at what Firefly did.

So I am thinking of a collection of ships, that can land and form either it's own "portable bazaar/warehouse of all goods, cheap and illicit." or even in some cases adjoin an already built location.

So you can conceibably have a variety of worlds for the characters to come across.

Luke in a jungle? Jedi on Coruscant? Luke on Tatooine? The "gang" on Endor?

I'm curious if they could do it. this way, it helps the production managers decide when they have the budget to splurge on either stage and set design, CGI, or even just enclosed sets (that are portable and have artwork done outsides).

Another idea I was thinking of:

You could have a handful of ships that put on "displays" of the goods the smugglers have, the real goods are located elsewhere, likely in government transports to sneak under the radar.

I think, for the show, you would want the cast to be fluid. There is no "main guy," just main characters that occupy the center of attention at times, but who then become supporting characters later for other storylines. This way, if an actor in make-up cannot handle wearing contacts or being painted, they can conveniently remove themselves, and maybe even come back later as a different character.

You could have a main boss character, which could be a Hutt, that the smugglers answer to. This way, it is not a good guy they work for, but someone who is selfish and puts them in danger, which creates very interesting and dynamic tension within the smuggling group.

Audiences like seeing people who are weak, struggling against amazing odds, and barely able to make it out alive. And if you give them storylines of characters trapped by circumstance and working to elevate themselves, more audiences will approve and like this, and want more. (I think this is part of what was attractive of "Farscape.")

(Should I re-do this video?)
