I think the idea is retarded. Great in theory, get rid of old crap cars polluting and using excessive gas. But houses produce several times the amount of greenhouse gas' then cars do and now we have hundreds or thousands of tons of scrap metal in cars to further contaminate the earth.

 These cars are not rare. They are worth less than $4500 so they aren't that great of cars. You still get all the parts out of the car just not the engine.

It has nothing to do with the fact that cars are animals or not, these are good cars that are literally being destroyed instead of rebuilt/recycles. There are people out there who could have used those parts. Animals can be reborn/genetically created if we wanted to but some of the cars that were destroyed were extremely rare cars. Car parts are NOT expendable & are highly sought out by mechanics & the like. Sell your shit but don't junk it, especially if it isn't junk.

I could not have phrased it better myself. I am so dissapointed. I was so glad when they got rid of Bush but this scheme of obamas sickens me. Killing perfectly good cars. Cars that I would drive no worries. My car is 18 years old and its fine I am not going to trade it in until its dead.. I just can't believe it I'm in shock.
