  • Determination & Direct Action in a non violent protest has a power they can't understand.

  • America has been a "police state" since 1700rds don't forget slavery ...Vietnam protest..Kent state ...lets not forget anything...

  • America has been a "police state" since Bush's (Un)Patriot Act (approved by corporate-owned Congress) authorized it. America is just now waking up to the reality.

This is what a police state looks like. The loose canons are no longer aimed at tan Muslims abroad and at home -- they're aimed at white Christians on our own soil. What goes around comes around. It's a type of Karma. Soon, after a vet shoots back, protestors will be labelled "domestic terrorists." It will be GAME OVER.

  • support the occupiers. The Military supports the Occupiers. The true patriots support Occupy. The Occupiers want Freedom and Liberty and have grievances against the control of our governments and the monetary destruction of our countries. Stop your name calling because they fight for every humans life liberty and Freedom to live with dignity. You should support them as they fight the corruption of your very own country. These protests have already made changes for the betterment of all.

  • Thank you, Keith, for this great update.

  • I was out there that night and had encountered police officers who were friendly, non-defensive and open to de-escalating conversation. These officers were not afraid of cameras. These officers are smart enough to know that they and their children will benefit from what OWS stands for.

I still believe that the goals of OWS can be achieved without violence. In fact, violence will not solve anything.

Going forward it might be wise to remove emotionally unstable officers from the front lines.

  • ive been a reserve police officer for several years, and i can tell you that this pisses me off. whichever officer fired that round unprovoked like that should be held responsible. not all PO's are like that. the thing that strikes me is that they could not even defend it as an accidental discharge, as you can clearly see in the video that none of the other officers reacted or jumped in surprise. they did not run forward to help or anything. sad days.

  • I think OPD needs to re train their thugs. Course 1 should be how NOT to start and instigate riots.

  • WTF? I am not a supporter of OWS, but this is ridiculous. OPD is out of hand and fueling the fire. Get your shit together OPD.

  • This is criminal behavior on the part of the police. I am disgusted. I would start legal action against the city immediately.
