Bernard 'Frenchy' Riviere was hired by the city of Miami to build a mountain bike park on Virginia Key's North Point. The trails wind through beautiful Australian Pine trees and along the beaches of Virginia Key and offer breathtaking views of both South Beach and downtown Miami. The park has its grand opening on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. Emily Michot/Miami Herald Staff

I love this trail... it is a great trail to learn how to ride... than go to amelia earhart ... amelia will get you ready for markham.. if you just starting out please wear ;(1) helmet(2) knee and shin guard (3) and forearm pads just in case you do have to fall down you can fall on forearm and not hurt your arms... this is a great sport

FANTASTIC job Frenchy, i love every inch of the trails but i can't help but wonder if there will be more stuff for the freeriders and jumpers later on? I know plenty of us would be more than happy to lend a hand in the illustrious projects to come (if there are any) is there any way for us to join the volunteer effort at the Key?
Can't help but point out the fact that the reason these trails are so much better than any other bike parks in SF is because of the flow and feel of the trail
