Learn how to create an ISO image of your windows c: drive. If a re-format is needed, you can quickly role back to this iso image and be right back to where you were when you created your system snap shot.

  • After i did the backup, i couldn't create the bootable CD, it's looking for an *.img file - Please help.

  • @maagtube Did you get an error message? It should not be looking for an .img file. All it should do is create a rescue CD so you can use the CD to boot without booting from the hard drive. Did you click "create rescue CD", or something like that??

  • Hi rtbuell... another question if you'd be so kind! I noticed on the video that you chose to back up only "Logical Disc (C:)" and left the MBR unchecked. Now I understand that for most backups this would be ok, but what if the MBR becomes corrupted? Would you have to repair it with the original Windows install disc and then proceed to back up afterwards? I guess I'm just being paranoid! haha.. thanks in advance.

  • @broggi007 Yes, I decided not to back up the MBR. In the past, I have just used the windows install disc and fixed the MBR that way. It is pretty easy to do and thus far I haven't had any issues. I suppose backing it up would be the best thing. If you would rather, feel free to check the MBR during back up. I guess it doesn't hurt to back it up even if you choose to use the windows CD. At least you have a copy just in case...

  • Hello, I have a question, i want to dual boot my machine. But i have alot of content, i want to make sure i get it all. would this work. if i installed mac, and then restore windows 7 using this method. or would the boot options not show the other os's ? thank you for any help in advance

  • @MCGBeats I am not sure if I understand the question. This won't work for setting up dual booting. If you restored windows 7 on the mac OS partition, then this will clear out the mac OS partition. If you want to dual boot you will need at least two partitions. One with mac OS and the other with windows. Then you will need to configure the boot loader to see both partitions so you can choose which one to boot into. If you have a mac, you can do this with boot camp.

  • @rtbuell2004 Does the ISO also backup the 100mb reserved by the windows 7 OS on disk formatting when you install? If not, is it necessary to do so?

  • .... Now i believe all 4.6 GB data should have been copied on USB but instead it was only few MBs, so i copied backup files(.pbf etc) manually. Please let me know whether this way i would be able to create windows OS image.

    Cheers and thanks

  • Hi rtbuell2004gr8 video there. I tried backup as shown in video just that i tried USB instead of CD/DVD. OS backup size was 4.6GB and pendrive size 7.4 GB. When i used the flash drive option in paragon media builder it formatted USB and copied some file after choosing typical option....
