Your stating things that are part of a dual diagnois and pathology.
Are you a medical doctor or psychiatrist ?

The spouses and partners of bi-polar sufferers, deserve a gold medal. They go through hell also.

@amazonqueen13 isn't that the truth. I suffer from a form of depression similar to manic/bipolar but it is once a month and then goes away. I get moody, hyper, elated. Then down.

Thanks for the reply!
The problem is that Bipolar is a Tabu word, and ignorant people think that it may be contagious if they relate to anyone that is Bipolar!
The difference with being Bipolar and having Cancer, is that once you have it, you'll always have it. That is not the same with Cancer! A lot of people are very ignorant about Bipolar and even Cancer. They don't want to know of it because they think it doesn't apply to them, but I'm sure they know of someone with the disorder or the disease.

My father was bi-polar, lithium finally helped him but one of the dangers is they think they are feeling good and then stop taking the lithium, you have to take it for life. It's no walk in the park, I feel bad for anyone with depression.
Only stupid people would attach a stigma to a mental illness.
