  • @gravelandgrain100 Oh well we've gone to a private counselor since may, the school had nothing to do with it. I don't believe a school has the education to make a dx of anything just from my experience. I didn't get upset you said anything, you're entitled to your opinion, i was agreeing with you about meds. Although, you don't outgrow ASD. You never had it if you've outgrown it. But, that's all for me.

  • My cousins kid got the diagnosis of ASD, along with 3/4 of his class. The administration at this particular makes beaucoup bucks pairing this disorder up with kids.

Muzic-I wasn't trying to be offensive, just a gut "call it as I see it". The one really positive note on ASD is kids who actually have it will grow out of it.

  • @gravelandgrain100 I DO NOT believe in medication what so ever for any mood disorder. No way. I know at times why my son acts a certain way (mood wise) and i'm not about to medicate him for it. But i did get a DX for him finally and now i can educate myself and others.

  • @Travieso78702 I would look into Autism Spectrum Disorders if i were you. After months and months i finally have an answer and when you say "He rages for saying go brush your teeth, and yet he will be fine the next minute" is exactly the type of things i'm dealing with, we got a DX of an ASD. If my son is doing something and you interupt him he will flip out like you can't imagine. I'm not going to get into everything but, from that sentence you said.i don't know, but maybe look into autism.

  • @MuzicMum -

wha you are describing is what alot of parents think is "childhood bipolar." America is now overrun with fatherless children-men who are not grown up enough to care for a child. A child NEEDS a mom and dad together, not a mom and someone who pays child support while banging anything with a pulse. I feel for these kids, because they don't have a chance-it's their fault dad left mom, and now they will be medicated for it.

    Shame on us all!

  • Muzic, that sounds more like a Conduct Disorder. Bipolar is more... mood-swings. Now, if the violence was lasting a week or more then followed by a week or so of lethargy and depression, maybe BPD. Look into Conduct first.

  • Sorry for all the misspelled words, but I'm doing laundry at the same time....I don't multi-task well.

  • Muzicman, I feel for you. I am going thorugh the same thing. I adopted my son and duaghter becuase they were mystudents in Pre-k (i'm a teacher). We have gone through the whole ADHD and now Zoloft just to find the right meds and diagnosis. He rages for saying go brush your teeth, and yet he will be fine the next minute. It's just so strange and so very tiring. I'm so exhausted.

  • thanx carolann.....i have researched this a lot and he has seen a lot of drs. for ADHD which was ruled out. the last dr. he saw did say he has "tendensies" or whatever...he also asked if i ever heard of social euphoric disorder which i promptly looked up when i got home and it brought me right to bipolar. i'm at a loss right now but i'm tryin!! thank you...web md is a huuuuge help

  • @MuzicMum hi my son has bi polar he is 9 and he does things too like you said but this does not ,mean your child may be bi polar you need to have him seen by doctor as there are so many different things that it can be if you google bi polar in children you will find a lot of info
