"Let a thousand flowers bloom" - well said.
If you want ideas for starting a new school, you could do worse than to google 'Lewes New School'. It's a Primary school started by parents in 2000 (though not yet, unfortunately, state funded).
There are around 80 'flowers' there and each gets to bloom in its own way and in its own time.
No National Curriculum, no formal testing, great discipline because the kids are listened to. Teachers who are trusted.

wow ..didnt think i'd see teachers that actually 'get it' lol
our education system isnt suited to most kids, IMO it actually ruins their natural potential as productive human beings, and tries to squeez their round brains into a square hole
i'd love to know how i'd of turned out, if the things i enjoyed+was good at were nurtured+explored rather than discouraged
unfortunately, i think most teachers will opt for whatevers easiest and keeps the kids quiet, it just pays the bills
