This photo montage was shown before presenting the lifetime achievement award for Toti Fuentes at Jazz Phil-USA concert at Catalina bar in LA California.
Ramon Reyes @ Adamson U.? How are things with you? It's been like almost 30 yrs.!!! What part in L.A. are you; where do you work? Anyways, do u have an IM id & we can chat online. Let me know. Tnx.
I'm sorry I mean Rene your brother you introduce me to him and we hang around for a while. We had common friends name Paul Cabahug and Donna your classmate @ STC.
Doy, thank you for dropping by L.A. before you 'went home forever'. Thank you for all the stories & jokes w/c made us laughed; the tears you shared when you were in pain, hurting & worried; all the dinners we had. And, thank u for being a BROTHER to all of us.
You may not have said it in words but, I know in my heart you have always cared & loved us. Now, you rest & have fun with Xara & Papa. I will miss US. Goodbye, Doy!
You name it: Live performance, dynamic touch, execution, showmanship, music arrangements, recording techniques, and to top it all, as a person of all season! Toti Fuentes is one of the best pianist/musical directors we ever have in this lifetime. Seen him played with Tony Orlando & Dawn, Donna Summer, La Toya Jackson, Andy Williams, Al Wilson, Pat Upton & Kevyn Lettau and other American & Filipino Celebrities.
Seeing musicians perform live makes you realize that it's the ultimate ground for weeding out the mediocre or manufactured talents from the real ones. I've watched Toti perform live in Cagayan de Oro. His charisma on the stage and his bravado with the keys sets him apart. Let's pray for his health and wish that he stays strong.
